Our Week In Pics...
Our house continues to rise from the dust. Here Vanna Eryn shows the front,

and here she shows the back (rear entry garage):

We also had to buy a washer and dryer (since ours stayed in Colorado almost two years ago and we're rather fond of clean clothing):

And they say the box is the most fun part! Instead of putting "washes up to 20 pair of jeans at a time" in the advert, they should put "holds one full grown adult and a medium sized child!" That would sell appliances! Now if my family were just this excited about washing clothes with them...

Winter...
A few days ago I was driving with Aubrey on a too-warm-to-actually-be-winter, almost 80 degree afternoon, and she started talking about ice skating, reminiscing about how fun it was to go ice skating in Colorado and again at an open-air rink with the youth in England. She then commented that "maybe when it's winter, they'll pour a rink and we can go ice skating here."
Now I try not to laugh at my children (out loud anyway) when they make cute but absurd statements, but this time I burst right out laughing. After composing myself, I simply said, "Aubs, Honey, it's February--this IS winter--remember how in the summer here you feel like you're melting?"
It took her a couple of minutes to figure out where the breakdown had been, but then she sullenly replied, "Oh, yah, this is Texas."
Poor cold-climate baby!

Too Fun...
When we would go to a movie when our kids were smaller, they would always run up to the front of the theatre and dance in the open space in front of the screen during the closing credit music. Now that they've gotten older, they don't do it anymore, and it's one of the things I miss most from their younger collective childhoods. BUT, last night we went to see Madagascar 2 at the dollar theatre for family night, and when it was over Eryn went down to the front to dance. To my surprise, Laurel went with her; and pretty soon we were all down there, dancing like fools in the empty theatre and having a truly great time (well, all of us except Jessie, who was hiding from her crazy family in the bathroom...). These are the moments in life that are truly enjoyable to me, spontaneous, playful, and 100% joyful. (Besides, who doesn't like to "move it, move it?!!?") I love my family!
And oh yes, we have forms! We might actually have a home of our own again some day. Glory be & hallelujah, friends!
